StraightwIre Virtuoso R XLR, 5.5m
Price lowered to $450; I accepted an offer at that price and the offeror disappeared, so asking price adjusted to reflect that.
Pair of 5.5m Straightwire Virtuoso R XLR interconnects for sale. Originally purchased in 2010. These are two individual XLR cables, each 5.5m in length.
I had a 13m run of these through a crawl space in my home to connect my front end (IMac/DCS Puccini SACD/CD player and UClock) to a pair of Krell Evo 600 amps which were on the other side of the room. I recently relocated the front end to the same location as the amps and retrieved these from the crawl space.
I had the 13m pair reterminated into two 5.5m pairs (I am using one to connect a Marchand XM66 crossover to my subs) and a 2 meter pair, which I am also using. Cable Company pricing shows a 4.0m pair of Virtuoso R2 (these cables predate the change to R2) at $1,840 ($460/m)--extrapolating that to 5.5m yields a comparable/theoretical retail price of $2,530.
I had a continuity check run on the full 13m set before retermination, and they checked out fine. There are some scratches and marks on the jackets, but nothing egregious, and nothing that affects continuity. Photo attached of the most significant marring; does not penetrate the jacket or impact the internal wiring.
I considered chopping this 5.5m pair into shorter lengths to increase resale value - for instance three 1.5m pairs and one 1.0m pair. Based on Cable Co pricing for the R2 version that'd be roughly $3,300 worth of ICs. I decided to offer the full 5.5m pair first in case anyone has a need for a long XLR run, or wants to buy the 5.5m pair and reterminate themselves based on their system needs.
I've already rewired my system in its new location so these are excess to my needs and this is not a duress sale. I'll entertain reasonable offers, or I'll get these reterminated into shorter lengths myself for resale. Retermination typically costs $60 - $75 per end.
I'll cover shipping (UPS Ground) at asking price, purchaser covers 3% for paypal.
